EntrepreneursDay 2012 – "Next Stop: EXIT"

Dear friends, dear entrepreneurs,

We are looking forward to this years EntrepreneursDay!

But first a brief review: What a year 2011! Economic conditions in Europe and many other parts of the world seldom were as instable as they are today. Market developments often resemble rollercoaster rides and entrepreneurs need to make even more effort to keep on track. Policymakers seem helpless and incapable of coping.

But in times of upheavals, when whole industries are disappearing, formerly successful companies become restructuring cases and new technologies eradicate existing business models, these changes also offer enormous opportunities. And let’s be honest: The fact that one or another large-scale enterprise has vanished proves to us that “Too Big to Fail” was yesterday’s news and that the small fast ones will overtake the large inflexible ones.

Such times demand of you as investors and entrepreneurs to set the right course and choose the time for the next financing round or the perfect exit wisely and prudently. Exit by write-down is something we won’t go into here.

In retrospective, 2000 and 2006 were experienced by us at the Mountain Partners Group as “exit years.” What will the coming year hold in store for us? For the sake of being true to the pattern, it would be really nice if 2012 would also turn out to be such a year. Many signs point this way from our perspective, even if the global economy is acting up a little at the moment. One thing I’ve learned: Nobody calls you on the phone beforehand or notifies you when the window is opening. 

Hence the motto of EntrepreneursDay 2012 is: “Next Stop: EXIT”

On March 29^th and March 30^th, more than 300 top-flight—but first and foremost, likeable—entrepreneurial personalities will be on site again next year so as to meet and discuss the latest trends in terms of fast-growing companies and business angel funding. A colorful mix of entertaining lectures from the worlds of business and policy-making, as well as maybe auspicious business models in the areas of Internet and technology await you. As always, entertainment and networking take center stage.
